IUFOST 2024: Shaping the Future of Food
The future of food took center stage at the 22nd World Congress of Food Science and Technology held in Rimini 8 to 12 September 2024. Organized for the first time by AIM Group as the full PCO, this international event brought together over 1,400 participants from 74 countries, featuring professionals, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders. Themed “The Future of Food is Now: Development, Functionality & Sustainability”, the congress became a key platform for exchanging cutting-edge ideas and building impactful partnerships to drive food science and technology forward.
The scientific program was both rich and diverse, with over 1,500 abstracts submitted and 50 scientific sessions held in eight parallel rooms. The program featured 172 speakers, including congress workshops, 59 oral presentations, and 600 poster presentations. The event also included special invited sessions and sponsored symposia, offering varied formats that catered to a wide range of interests within the community.
The congress was also a celebration of excellence, with contests and industrial awards recognizing outstanding products and solutions across different levels—from students to both young and seasoned scientists. These awards highlighted the innovative achievements within the community, serving as a source of inspiration for everyone involved.
While the social program was simple, with a welcome cocktail and a gala dinner held at the PalaCongressi of Rimini, attendees had the chance to explore the local area through family tours to Rimini, Ravenna, and San Marino, as well as pre- and post-congress tours across Italy.
The congress saw the involvement of around 40 sponsors, including media partners, who contributed to the success of the event. The sponsors were particularly engaged in the scientific sessions and the exhibition area.
Both participants and the organizing committee expressed immense satisfaction with the event’s success. The Congress President praised the efficiency and professionalism of AIM Group, stating, “You are a super-efficient machine! You handled everything in the best possible way. Congratulations! I have never worked with such a strong team.”
With the tremendous success of the event, AIM Group has once again proven its expertise in organizing large-scale international congresses, continuing to drive innovation and excellence in food science and technology.
