107th SIOT National Congress unites global orthopaedic community with new interactive SIOT HUB
The 107th SIOT National Congress took centre stage at the Rome Cavalieri Congress Centre, bringing together over 2,000 orthopaedic professionals, including a significant number of international experts. This year’s congress was marked by a rich exchange of expertise and the unveiling of the SIOT HUB, an innovative interactive space designed to encourage direct, hands-on engagement among participants. The congress was organised by AIM Group, which has been working with the National Scientific Society for several years.
Supported by more than 70 corporate sponsors and covering nearly 2,000 square metres of exhibition space, the congress showcased the latest advances in orthopaedic technology and reaffirmed its vital role in the industry.
Opening with a formal ceremony led by Congress Presidents Professors Francesco Benazzo and Pietro Cavaliere, SIOT President Alberto Momoli and representatives from international orthopaedic societies, the Congress set a collaborative tone that continued throughout the event. Attendees were immersed in thematic sessions, dynamic discussions and company symposia, culminating in a captivating keynote lecture by Professors Vincenzo Denaro and Javad Parvizi.
One of the highlights of this year’s event was the debut of the SIOT HUB, a dedicated interactive space designed to break away from traditional classroom settings and encourage informal engagement. The SIOT HUB featured three innovative session formats:
- Orthodome: High-definition video demonstrations led by expert surgeons, offering 30-minute sessions showcasing advanced orthopaedic techniques and new equipment.
- Simulation Activity: A hands-on area where junior doctors can practice interventional techniques and gain hands-on experience under expert supervision.
- Meet the Expert: Small-group, 30-minute sessions where specialists engaged with surgeons of all experience levels, sharing insights and deepening understanding of specific topics.
The congress also emphasised networking and community building, starting with a welcome cocktail for all attendees after the opening ceremony. Another highlight was the SIOT Inaugural Party, held at the stunning Terrazza degli Aranci at the Rome Cavalieri, offering guests a panoramic view of the Rome skyline and a memorable evening atmosphere.
Participants and SIOT Board members expressed their appreciation for the seamless organisation and valuable content of the Congress. With a strong focus on innovation and collaboration, the 107th SIOT National Congress reinforced its position as a premier event in the field of orthopaedics and set a high standard for years to come.
