Driving innovation through cutting-edge events

From AI-powered tools for simultaneous translation to the next horizons of robotics and remote-controlled surgery, AIM Group supports associations foster innovation through their conferences.

Meetings and events are a key opportunity to share best practice, promote knowledge exchange and encourage innovation and new practices between professional communities.

To be effective and up to date it is essential to embrace new event formats and technologies, multiply the engagement of delegates and involve the stakeholders, media and local communities in a direct and appealing way.

Innovation and creativity have always been part of the AIM Group’s DNA, and now it is at the forefront of the latest innovations. Some examples?

  • In a landmark event, the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) held its General Assembly in Accra, Ghana. One of the outstanding features of the event was the introduction of an innovative AI translation tool for multilingual support. For the first time, attendees had access to an AI-powered translation service that enabled seamless communication in more than 30 languages. Participants simply scanned a QR code with their smartphones, eliminating the need to download an app. They could listen through a pair of headphones, making it a user-friendly solution. This approach simplified translation without the need for traditional translation booths, significantly increasing the range of languages supported while reducing overall costs.
  • The 25th edition of the AICCER National Congress has once again positioned itself at the forefront of innovation in ophthalmic surgery. Expertly orchestrated by AIM Group, the congress proved to be a dynamic platform for collaboration and exploration. Attendees participated in 54 immersive educational sessions, including 15 live surgical procedures. A real highlight of this edition was the historic moment when the first remote-controlled corneal refractive surgery was performed. On 8 March, Professor Giovanni Alessio, from the La Nuvola Congress Centre remotely controlled and monitored a live surgery in real time using a 3D viewer while the patient underwent the procedure in the operating room of the San Carlo Hospital in Nancy in Rome.
  • The European Robotics Forum 2024, held in Rimini, has proven to be a key convergence point for end-users, researchers and technology producers of robotics. Designed to strengthen industrial competitiveness, drive scientific progress and stimulate networking between stakeholders, the event has redefined the landscape of robotics applications. Held at the prestigious Rimini Convention Centre, the face-to-face meeting brought together plenary sessions, workshops and paper sessions, providing a platform for in-depth interaction. The Congress also hosted unprecedented robotics challenges: from dog races to drone flights and manufacturing challenges, the competitions showcased the skills of both students and professionals.
  • the AIM Phygital Platformenabled us to support the digital transformation of the Salone del Mobile Milano, the leading international fair for the furniture and design sector, and to enrich its new website www.salonemilano.it for the 2021, 2022 and 2023 editions.
