Hospital Pharmacists at the Forefront of SIFO Congress 2023
Held in Rome, with over 3,000 participants, the congress witnessed the engagement of important institutional stakeholders and active participation from attendees, featuring interactive sessions and even a musical talent show.
An exceptional celebration of innovation and interaction marked the SIFO Congress 2023, skilfully organized by AIM Group. The event, held at the elegant Waldorf Astoria Rome Cavalieri from October 5th to 8th, brought together hospital pharmacists and pharmaceutical services from healthcare institutions in a beautiful setting in the heart of the Italian capital.
The Congress effectively achieved its intended objectives. By gathering notable figures from the scientific community and representatives of key organizations in the pharmaceutical sector, including the Undersecretary of State for Health, Federfarma, Farmindustria, FOFI, AIFA, Agenas, FIASO, ISS, the event provided a unique platform for discussions.
With over 3,000 participants, SIFO Congress 2023 set a new attendance record in its history, showcasing significant growth compared to the previous years. The presence of 90 sponsoring companies and an 800-square-meter exhibition area injected a sense of vibrancy and innovation into the event.
The opening ceremony, themed “The Evolution of Healthcare Services between Innovation and Care Proximity,” was in line with current topics, including discussions on artificial intelligence. A highlight was the Master Lecture on artificial intelligence in hospital pharmacy, addressing its potential applications and future challenges.
Participants were not mere spectators; they actively engaged in the event.
Alongside plenary sessions and breakout groups, interactive meetings such as Meet the Expert, where experts were on hand to answer questions, and the SIFO Arena, where experts engaged in debates, were organized. The LAB L.I.F.E. (Interactive Laboratory for Expert Pharmacists) served as a space for learning and sharing. The SIFO Library, an archive of volumes managed by specialists, offered a unique opportunity for free consultation of relevant texts.
The social program was equally enriching and engaging.
For the Faculty Dinner took place at the beautiful Terrazza Cafferelli, complemented by a jazz ensemble, after an exclusive visit to the Musei Capitolini.
The Social Dinner captivated over 1,000 guests at Villa Miani, offering a panoramic dinner overlooking Rome. The highlight of the evening was the SIFO’S GOT TALENT, a competition in which hospital pharmacists competed in the interpretation of famous musical pieces, followed by a band and a dance night.
The event also revealed a charitable aspect through corporate social responsibility initiatives. Unused food was donated to local non-profit organizations managing social canteens, in line with the Food for Good and Equoevento programs. The proceeds from the Social Dinner were donated to charitable organizations, including Una Carezza per Natale and Amici di Maria ONLUS.
Technology played a crucial role in engaging participants. The mySIFO app allowed for photo and selfie sharing, also on the big Social Wall, voting for the best posters, asking questions to moderators, and managing personal schedules.
The SIFO Congress 2023 has met the expectations of participants and organisers. The client was really satisfied and the President of the Congress in particular thanked all the AIM staff for their valuable collaboration.
